A little Sunshine State cheer.
Are any of you guys as addicted to Pinterest as I am? I thought so. That's where I saw the pinspiration (that's right, I made that up on the spot) for this project. It's actually the first thing I've made from a pin that I saw on Pinterest since I've joined.
I've been missing my FL peeps a lot, especially now during the holidays. I decided that our new home needed a touch of sunshine from our old home. So what do you get with a 2-foot square piece of plywood, a couple of sheets of vinyl, a can of spray paint, a few dabs of red acrylic paint, some satin varnish, 4 packs of nails, a hammer, and a skein of crochet thread?

This:
[Yes, I totally spray painted our grass. But not to worry! The hubs has since mowed and all is right with our lawn again.]
[Home is where the heart is. And in our case, home is where our family and friends are.]
[Adding some satin shine.]
[Nailed it.]
[Strung it.]
LOVE IT.
I can't wait to hang it up.

Our Christmas Card
With the exception of one Christmas, I've custom designed our card every year. This year's card was the first time that the hubs and I have taken a picture. And since it's been a heck of a year, this card is also the first with a little recap. [Click on a pic to view it in its larger size.]
Enjoy! And Mele Kalikimaka from Two Weas in a Pod! ♥

Happiness.
[source]
It's the first day of a new month--the last month of 2011! This year has flown by at warp speed. Today is not just any other day... it will forever be known as the day that I paid off my loan! It's been four years in the making, but it is the most amazing feeling! I'm thanking the Lord for getting me through this.(side note... They seriously need to offer a course in high school to properly educate you about credit and credit cards. Now THAT is a life class that's necessary! It would have saved me years of stupidity!)
This seriously is THE greatest Christmas present that I could have ever given to myself and the hubs. It's the most amazing feeling!!

Slacker.
Horrible blogger, party of one... Sorry for the lack of posting. Things have been pretty busy over here. Here's a recap of what went on in October.
Picked up a part-time job at a local craft store. It's been a month, I survived my first 40% Off Coupon wekend and I'm still alive. And I still like it. Ask me again if I still like it after the holidays are over. hahaha
We moved into our own place! It's not much, but it's home for us for a while. We are in the flyover zone for the airport, but we've gotten used to it. Even the pup. He's a pro now. It doesn't even phase him anymore.
So here's to new beginnings! I'll try to update more often. Aloha for now, friends!

Chuck's sister and her hubby came out to visit. They were here for his work and decided to stay an extra few days. We had a blast showing them around the island. Ten on Ten
I stumbled upon the Ten on Ten Project yesterday from the blog, A Bit of Sunshine, just in time for today--October 10! What a wonderful way to celebrate a day. It just so happened that my husband was off from work today. Here's how our day went.
[Greeted by a rainbow this morning.]
[Getting inspired while having my morning coffee.]
[Took the dog with us to check out our future neighborhood.]
[Our future neighborhood is a flyover. The pup was not a fan.]
[But it does have a dog park with beach access. He enjoyed his first time at the beach!]
[Refueled at BK.]
[Made our way from the leeward to the windward side of the island. Hello, Kailua Beach.]
[Feeties in the sand.]
[Driving home up Kalanianaole Hwy.]
[Blessed to have lived through another beautiful day.]
Happy Ten on Ten, friends!

My Best Friend's Wedding
I just realized that I never blogged about my [other] best friend getting married. Isn't she gorgeous? I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I am to have her. It was the most beautiful day. Here are my favorite shots from her wedding.
Me and my other best friend doing our "Amazon Woman Strikes Again" pose. We literally have so many pictures of this one pose. We even have one from each other's wedding. It's tradition. ♥

Someone had a birthday!
Our beloved big guy, Mushu, turned four yesterday! I can't believe he's already four! And HUMONGOUS! He used to be so tiny! See?
Here we are with him at Christmas 2007, just a couple of weeks after we got him. I think he was 13 weeks old here.
In honor of his fourth birthday, we gave him four BK Minis. Haha! Happy birthday! [Don't get used to it, bud. This isn't grandma's house. Back to your regularly scheduled pup food today and every day!]

Aloha!
Sorry I've been so completely MIA from the blog. It's been 2 weeks since I last updated! I've just been soaking it all up here in Oahu. Still hard to believe that we're here for good and not just visiting! Here are a few highlights from the past two weeks
Moosh on his new bed. We figured we owed him one. He's actually been adjusting well here--much better than anticipated! Something about the Hawaiian air brings out the explorer in him.
The hubs got some late birthday Pittsburgh goodies from our brother- and sister-in-law. Pretty awesome!
Seriously. He's exploring at the dog park and even playing with other dogs. It's like he's a completely different dog!
Russell made it through his long boat ride. He even got here ahead of schedule! He may have new Hawaii plates, but I'm still rocking my Orlando Magic license plate cover. hehe
That's it for now... thanks for continuing to keep up with us. "Wea" are blessed to have you here! Mahalo!

Trip Out West. Day Six.
This day finally came. After four long months, countless phone calls & Skype dates, the hubs and I (and the Moosh) are all in the same place again! We all flew out today and I was nothing but a bundle of nerves! Mushu almost wasn't allowed to fly out! We bought a crate from PetSmart that was supposed to be for a Labrador, but when we were checking him in, the agent said that he was too big for that crate and that they wouldn't allow him to fly. OH. MY. CRAP. I literally almost lost it. But thank the Lord for small miracles because they had an extra giant crate on hand. PHEW!
Needless to say, The Moosh made it in one piece! He's still a bit confused and getting used to his new home, but we are so thankful for safe travels and only minor glitches.
We can't wait to start this new chapter in our lives! Thank you to everyone that has been following our travels and supporting us each step of the way. We love each and every one of you!

Trip Out West. Day Five.
Day five is now done. Today we left our friends' place in Riverside and ventured off to Long Beach to drop our car off. But before we dropped it off, we had to get a rental. We ended up getting a Ford Edge--the same car that one of my best friends drives. Not as tricked out, but the same color. So made me think of her.
Before we could drop off our car, the shipping company required us to have it delivered to them cleaned--inside and out. We basically had to drop it off a brand new car to them, since we couldn't even place a shipping box or anything inside. Four days' worth of road grime and bug guts is not pretty, so we couldn't just take it to a drive-thru wash at the gas station. After a slight runaround with a non-existent car wash place that I plugged into my phone, I Googled and found another place not too far from where we stopped. [What did we ever do without smart phones?]
Here I am saying goodbye to Russell (named after the cutie pie little kid from Up). They said he'll be in Honolulu on Sept. 27 at the latest. Crazy!
We're now staying at a motel right down the street from the airport. We've got a huge day ahead of us tomorrow--especially Mushu! We're unwinding and my husband even made himself some new friends...
