Let's get "Elevated"!

Get your minds out of the gutter... I'm not trying to convince you to get "high" like that...I'm asking you to join me on a creative high! Come take this challenge with me. It's called "Elevated Envelopes" and it's from Tara over at Ephemera.

What are Elevated Envelopes, you ask? (From Tara's post):
"Wouldn’t it be fun to be pen pals with incredibly creative, talented, smart strangers? That’s The Elevated Envelope in a nutshell. There will be a theme (SUMMERTIME), and you will plan and design a creatively-addressed envelope that embodies that theme to you.  Then you execute it 10-ish times for the people on your list, put something fun inside explaining your concept, and mail it out by the deadline. Those same 10-ish people will send their creations to you as well.  Cool!"
More often than not, I get in a creative rut. I'm really excited to participate in this project. It's like enrolling in a mini art class! So if you love getting creative and receiving pretty snail mail like I do, head on over and sign up by leaving a comment on this post. The deadline to sign up is this coming Friday, July 8. All the details are on there. Hope you'll join me! Maybe we can end up on the same list!

Can you tell...

...that I'm going through hubby withdrawals?
This was taken during our portrait session with our awesome friend, Jana Morgan. The heart bunting overlays are from vol.25 aka Digital Eye Candy from her "Be Mine" overlay set. This was the spot where the hubs proposed to me. It's a low key spot under one of the bridge walkways at Disney's Boardwalk, which was also where we had our first date. Cute, huh? Go check these lovely ladies out. I pormise you won't be disappointed!

A week ago today...

This happened...

[Taken by the awesome & talented Jana Morgan]

Our friend, Jana, was in town from Maui to photograph our friends' wedding and visit with her in-laws. She was also kind enough to take portraits of the hubs and I. We went and took pics at Disney's Boardwalk. It's a special place for us--it's where we had our first date and where the hubs proposed. These pics mean so much more to us now that we're moving. Check out Jana's blog for more pics from the shoot.

Goodies in the mail!

I follow this awesome blog called the Girl and Boy, owned by the lovely Lehua. She contacted me after I put up this post about the recipe boxes I made for my mom & mom-in-law. We decided to trade a recipe box for one of her amazing journals. My happiness came in the mail yesterday! Snail mail surprises are the best!
And she even threw in some extra paper craft goodies! Seriously, this journal is even cuter in person.
Doesn't she have THE BEST handwriting?! Font-worthy, no doubt. I'd be the first in line!
So if you're looking for some awesome handmade journals and paper goods, go check out the Girl and Boy's Etsy shop... and make sure you stop by the blog, too!

It's nice to have crafty blog buds! Thanks, again, Lehua! ♥

I got some blog love!

I couldn't go to sleep last night so I was online reading blogs in my google reader. And LOOK!! I got awesome blog love from Mrs. Green Tea, the lovely lady genius whose original idea paved the way for my centerpieces. She rocks my socks! I can't wait to take pics of or table set ups! I also made thread tealights--which was what originally led Mrs. GT to creating the thread centerpieces. Who's got 2 thumbs and is super excited?

THIS GIRL!

So it's 10 days and counting until our big luau! I can't wait!!!
